MOViES FOR MANiACS presents “Get Off the Internet” Film Festival hosted by Jesse Hawthorne Ficks

WEDNESDAY, November 04
7:30pm TOO MUCH (Cannon Films, 1987) in 35mm!

This offbeat, neo-sincere, rarely seen 1980s children’s flick follows a young girl (Bridgette Anderson of SAVANNAH SMiLES) who while visiting Japan, falls in love with her new robot named TM.

Never released on home media in the U.S. and unavailable on official streaming site, this fascinatingly prophetic and surprisingly heartwarming Golan/Globus produced gem is the perfect blend of E.T. (1982) + SHORT CiRCUiT (1986) + MAC & ME (1985). It’s also an extraordinary time-capsule of Japanese culture in the late 1980s, made-up by a cast and crew almost entirely from Japan.

Rated PG w/ a running time of 89 minutes. Extremely Rare Original 35mm print. Theatrical screening rights cleared through Park Circus.

The evening will be preceded by a raffle, trivia and a gaggle of maniacal 35mm trailers.
