Our evening of exploring complex kids-flicks begins with Brad Bird's mesmerizing, pre-Pixar debut! This homage to 1950s Cold War sci-fi was shot in glorious Cinemascope and truly set the high-bar for fascinating, futuristic family films. Come follow Hogarth, a young boy raised by his single Mom, who befriends a beatnik and a giant robot as he confronts more than your tear ducts can ever imagine. This stunningly existential and haunting animated achievement belongs alongside those profound kids-flix like Steven Spielberg's E.T. (1982) and Andrew Stanton's WALL-E (2008). You won't want to miss one of the greatest underrated animated films of all-time presented in a beautiful Widescreen 35mm print, celebrating it's lucky 13-year Anniversary! Be prepared for the adorable Jennifer Connelly and David Bowie's hypnotic performance (as Jareth the Goblin King) to transport you to a dreamlike world as we celebrate the 25th Anniversary screening from a beautiful Widescreen 35mm print! The evening concludes with the Unrated Director's Cut of Dario Argento's mind melting 1985 supernatural horror film giving Jennifer Connelly her first leading role (which obviously led to her role in LABYRiNTH). While the film was completely reedited and cut by 30 minutes (released as CREEPERS in the US) Italy's "Master of Horror" truly concocted one of his greatest films by utilizing gorgeous Steadicam camerawork, horrific SFX, thousands of real life insects and one seriously killer soundtrack by Goblin, Iron Maiden & Motörhead. Do not miss this rare digital presentation of the UNRATED DiRECTOR'S CUT. 110 minutes.
