man

Who would have guessed in the year 2000 that this racially progressive, Queer positive, teen-angst Y2K cheerleading competition film would not only become a celebrated Broadway musical but deserve to be ranked alongside CLUELESS (1995) and MEAN GiRLS (2004) as one of the decades defining coming-of-age flicks? Bust out your toothbrushes, pom poms and spirit fingers and bring your favorite naysayer friends to celebrate the first (and perhaps last) 35mm screening of this genuinely brilliant teen classic. Preceded by trailers of other Y2K teen classics. 35mm print courtesy of Universal. Rated PG-13. 98min

no pain
Who would have guessed that in the year 1988 this racially progressive, "pleasantly plump" positive, early-1960s dance competition film would not only become a celebrated Broadway musical but would help make John Waters a household name (as well as inspire a Hollywood remake starring John Travolta!)? With a cast containing Ricki Lake, Deborah (BLONDiE) Harry, Sonny (&CHER) Bono, the almighty Mink Stole as well as Divine's final performance, come dressed up with your biggest hair do's and don'ts because this movie is the ultimate inclusive experience. Preceded by other John Waters classic trailers. 35mm print courtesy of Warner Brothers. Rated (surprisingly) PG. 92min

Written & Directed by Mark DiSalle (w/ Glenn Bruce & David Worth)
Containing: JCVD, Michel Qissi & heavyweight kickboxing champion Dennis Alexio

manWho would have guessed that in the year 1989, this little low-budget, martial arts genre flick would not only inspire four follow-up sequels and countless knockoffs but would help create its Belgian born star Jean-Claude Van Damme to become one of the decade's biggest and most celebrated international superstars?! This genuinely spectacular Canon Films release pits JCVD in Thailand and not only sports one of the greatest training sequences this side of the legendary Shaw Brothers films, but it delivers some of Van Damme's greatest fight scenes of his entire 40+ film career (the conclusion of this film has to be seen to be believed!) Come prepared to show some true love to this truly under appreciated genre actor whose charming blend of charismatic comedy, super killer splitz skills and an intensified extremity that neither Steven Segal nor Dolph Lundgren came anywhere close to. Screened from the only known 35mm print, DON'T MiSS THE SPECiAL 11:30pm START TiME which allows us to screen an unbelievable trailer reel that spans most of JCVD's career! MiSS THiS AND CRY. Rated R. 97min.
