man

"We're not worthy!" Kickoff the new year by celebrating the 20th Anniversary of this Gen-X defining Man-Child comedy that follows two metal-head maniacs as they do their best NOT to grow-up. A series of wacky antics ranging from hilariously awkward cable access productions to head-banging out to their favorite songs to even meeting everyone's favorite idol Alice Cooper! Penelope Spheeris, the director of the cult classic Decline of Western Civilization documentaries truly balances the comedic and even profund moments by bringing a necessary understanding to adolescent youths. Come out and follow Wayne & Garth on a journey that proves that even Saturday Night Live skit inspired movies can change the world. Preceded by trailers for upcoming M4M events. Rated PG-13. Original 35mm print from Paramount. 94 minutes.

(WIDESCREEN 35MM SCREENING!)

Written & Directed by Adam McKay
With: Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, Mary Steenburgen, Richard Jenkins & Adam Scott

man
This team's follow-up to their box-office bonanza Talledega Nights (2006) about a couple of 40-year-old men who still live at home was at least a financial success in 2008. But since then, anchored by a major art show celebrating this contemporary cult classic last year in Los Angeles, it's time to come experience one of the funniest R-Rated films of the Y2Ks in the greatest movie theatre in America. With a truly inspired comedic tour-de-force performance by John C. Reilly who somehow manages to upstage Will Ferrell in almost every scene, don't forget the side-splitting side-characters, enthusiastically performed by Adam Scott, Richard Jenkins and Mary Steenburgen. In fact, the more times you watch this movie, the better it gets. Preceded by other trailers about men who refuse to grow up. Rated R. Original Widescreen 35mm print from Columbia. 98 minutes.

11:45pm FREDDY GOT FiNGERED (2001)
Written & Directed by Tom Green
Containing: Tom Green, Rip Torn, Marisa Coughlan & Anthony Michael Hall

manI proudly announce without a single ounce of irony that Tom Green's directorial debut is not only one of the greatest surrealist films ever made, it is a thoroughly moving story about a 28 year-old trying to move out of his parents home, follow his dream of being an artist and attempt to make his Daddy proud by becoming a man. Universally hated & despised upon its initial release (with CNN claiming it as "the worst movie ever released by a major studio in Hollywood history" and Roger Ebert giving his infamous review of "This movie doesn't scrape the bottom of the barrel. This movie isn't the bottom of the barrel. This movie isn't below the bottom of the barrel. This movie doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence with barrels.") and after sweeping the Razzie Awards in 2001, Green was the first filmmaker to actually attend the ceremony where he accepted his "awards" (and then proceeded to play the accordian for five minutes.) I dare you to come out and be blown away by this truly inspired, disturbingly creative, insanely executed modern masterpiece. Rated-Hard-R. 87 minutes. RARE original 35mm print courtesy of Fox. Preceded by other infamous surreal and absurdist trailers.
