Decades before BLACK DYNAMiTE (2009), Kennan Ivory Wayans and family created this sketch comedy homage to the 1970s Blaxploitation genre. In fact, the film's parody is so spot-on that the Fox network gave the Wayans the go-ahead the following year for their Vaudeville-inspired TV show iN LiViNG COLOR (1990-1994). With cameos of everyone from Chris Rock and Jim Carrey to the whole Wayans family and showcasing such pioneers as Isaac Hayes & Jim Brown, don't miss this unstoppable spoof that holds up perhaps even more-so now! Preceded by upcoming M4M events! 1988. 88min. 35mm print courtesy of MGM.

Louis CK aka "The Entertainer of 2011" made his directorial debut with this potty mouthed, jaw-droppingly politically incorrect spinoff from a skit on the Chris Rock show. After Roger Ebert's infamous review condemning the film "that it should never have even being released" quite a cult following has steadily grown around the misunderstood satire making it all the more interesting a decade later! (Especially since Louis CK's existential "anti-comedy" has taken the country by storm.) And even though the studio took the final product away sadly re-editing it, POOTiE TANG shines as a brilliantly "off-color" and ahead-of-it's-time comedy that snuck through the Hollywood system. 2001. 81min. PG-13. Original 35mm print courtesy of Paramount. (NOT AVAiLABLE ON NETFLiX and DVD is long out of print.)
