Jodie Foster's follow-up to her directorial debut LiTTLE MAN TATE (1991) not only questions if "blood" truly is "thicker than water", this modern melodrama creates a maniacal method to the madness of these holy-days. Robert Downey Jr. gives his usual psychotic energy and yet will stun you with a spectacularly sensitive performance, while Holly Hunter achieves yet another solid role after winning the Oscar in Jane Campion's THE PiANO (1993). Many critics upon release found the film's uncomfortable tone unwatchable and perhaps too honest. As we approach this mini-masterpiece's 20th Anniversary, it's time to pay respect to this unsung hero on the big screen. Preceded by other priceless Jodie Foster classic trailers. 35mm print courtesy of Paramount. 103min. Rated PG-13.

Polarizing audiences (before some have even watched it!) for a full decade now, this surprisingly R-Rated British extravaganza is actually quite amazing in its epic exploration of every type of relationship you've ever dreamed of. While containing every UK'er who's anyone, this film will actually resonate differently upon each new viewing. While achieving an intriguing fanatic following on DVD, this neo-sincere romantic dramedey needs to be seen with an audience from a beautiful 35mm widescreen-ing! Preceded by a slew of Hugh Grant & Nicolas Cage trailers. 35mm print courtesy of Universal. 136min. Rated R.

11:59pm TRASH HUMPERS (2009)
(RARE 35MM SCREENING!)
Written and Directed by Harmony Korine
tafkThis warning against over-consumption is as brilliantly ambiguous as his (im)moral(?) monster-hit SPRiNG BREAKERS (2013). This counter-culture masterstroke follows a pack of (possibly deformed) senior citizens as they violently carouse and careen around the blighted outskirts of Nashville, Tennessee. And as Jeannette Catsoulis of the The New York Times said, "These savages are our future..." Do not miss this RARE 35mm screening of one of the weirdest films of the decade courtesy of Drag City. Preceded by other Harmony Korine trailers. 78min. Unrated. "I remember when I was a child, there was a small group of elderly people who would hang out in the back alleys and under bridges by my house. They always seemed to be getting drunk and dancing. One night I looked outside by my bedroom window and saw a group of them humping trash cans and laughing." - Harmony Korine
