We kick off our celebration of BFF flicks by combining Jane Austen's EMMA with the crackling dialogue of Amy Heckerling (writer/director of FAST TiMES AT RiDGEMONT HiGH) and setting it in Beverly Hills 90210 circa 1995, resulting in what surely can be considered as one of the defining teen films of the 1990s. Bust out your giant cell phones, bubblegum lip gloss & your best baggy pants and drag anyone who pretends that they don't actually care about this contemporary classic. Seeing this at the greatest repertory movie theatre in the country for it's 17th Anniversary from a original 35mm print (courtesy of Paramount) will be an event you don't want to miss. R.I.P.
