In 1971, Ken Russell set out to adapt Aldous Huxley’s 1952 non-fiction novel “The Devils of Loudun”, an account of a 17th-century Roman Catholic priest accused of witchcraft after a series of possessions. What culminated was one of the most controversial “faith-based” film productions of all time. Showcasing legendary performances by acting royalty, Vanessa Redgrave and Oliver Reed, this intensely sexy and graphically violent X-Rated endeavor has inspired countless directors ranging from Paul Verhoeven to Stanley Kubrick to Joe Dante.
Upon release, the Uncut Version was banned in the UK as well as countless other countries, and has been heavily censored in the US for decades. It has never been available on any round disc (DVD, Blu-Ray, 4K) and is still, currently, unavailable on any streaming platforms. Do not miss this rare Uncut Version screening courtesy of Warner Brothers. Running Time: 114 minutes. Warning: Extremely mature content
